Homestuck RPG Cabin!

HEY KIDS I'm looking for some ~help~ with a silly project I'm doing.

I'm fiddling about with RPG Maker VX, and eventually want to make an ~INTERACTIVE CABIN~ type thing for the Homestuck cast (and... anyone else, really), but I fail pretty magnificently at sprite editing. If anyone would like to help, I need assistance editing sprites such as these:


(karkat, eridan, and sollux sprites, built here/here, and sollux and eridan's were colour edited quite sloppily by me)

to actually resemble the characters (grey skin, horns, appropriate accessories, etc.) as well as sprites for items and such. Alas, I am sort of a failartist, even with pixel art, so! :D?

Anyone wanting to help with anything else, feel free to offer as well!! I'm sort of winging it and figuring things out as I go, as I've never used RPG Maker before.


Also if anyone's interested in my unfinished practice game, here's a download link (.exe, windows only, ignore the title, it's not a dating sim. yet. XD)

ONLY! I think they might be a little too close together?? Some of the sprites aren't working quiiiite right.

I'll fiddle with them in photoshop on my own and see if i can tweak it myself later

Gah, sorry! I was working from the templates of the famitsu site instead of an actual RPG Maker VX sheet, which would've been the actual smart thing to do. A+ job, me.

I am loving the demo so far, though |D

I have only ever used RM2K but anything I can help with code-wise, let me know! the secret to Dating Sims is obviously dialogue response options, and the best way to work it out is to flowchart your dialogue so you know which responses add $love and at what $love level those responses change and what $love level is required for good or bad endings.

obvs since I know nothing about Homestuck I am useless in all other areas.

notes! creating rooms a character can walk between is super easy, it's just setting a few squares in a row on the edge of the screen to auto-teleport, no prompts (and the same in the new room). also because your chicken has random movement and its description automatically appears whenever it bumps into the MC, I was annoyed by it super-fast.
